The Allen Eagles Will Play for a National Title

The Allen Eagles will play for a national championship at the Throne High School Basketball National Championship Tournament in New Jersey.

The Throne is a single elimination tournament, run by the NBA Players Association and Gold Level Sports and Entertainment.

Playing under the club name ‘Eagles’, Allen High School has had its way, winning both games by a combined 48 points. Dispatching Virginia and New Jersey’s state champions, Allen Head Coach Clark Cipoletta says playing for national championships has been the goal from Day 1. “This is what we wanted to build Allen into. Not only in Texas but nationally,’ said Cipoletta.

The Eagles have been impressive, representing Dallas-Ft. Worth and the state of Texas. In both games so far, the team is averaging 4 players in double figures, shooting 37% from behind the arc to go with 37 assists.

With one game remaining, Allen will compete against Kiyan Anthony, NBA legend Carmelo Anthony’s son, and Long Island Lutheran. Lutheran is part of Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League for scholastic league and Anthony has decided to follow in his father’s footsteps to Syracuse next year.

With hopes of bringing home the championship, Cipoletta knows this is an opportunity his team will remember forever. ” It has been incredible to compete against some of the best teams and players in the country. This means a ton, these kids have showed up every day and fought for one another. This opportunity they will tell their kids about,” said Cipoletta.

The championship game will be televised on the NBA TV at 4:00 EST or on the NBA App.

I'm Charles, at this point I think my love for basketball has to be classified as an obsession, possibly an addiction. My pops put the ball in my hand and I've yet to put it down, just changed lanes a couple of times. I started scouting in 2014 and wrote on every major player from the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex from 2014-2020. I took a 6 year hiatus but hear I am, back courtside with my pen and my notebook.
